The Portable Atheist: Essential Readings for the Nonbeliever - Christopher Hitchens (Audiobook)

"My prayers are answered!"
The New York Observer

"Hitchens has returned to the Belief Wars backed by a full army…the Godless Warrior marshals in an Atheist A-Team…to buttress his own arguments…Hitchens is the guide as well as the commentartor linking it all together."
San Diego Tribune

The Portable Atheist, edited by Christopher Hitchens (author of God is Not Great), is a great compilation of ideas from nonbelievers and freethinkers. This one includes the essays by: Spinoza, Omer Khayyam, David Hume, Stuart Mill, Karl Marx, Charles Darwin, Mark Twain, Sigmund Freud, H. P. Lovecraft, Albert Einstein, Salman Rushdie etc.

Don't miss it!

Awesome work. I usually buy my books second-hand so I'm unashamed by my "extreme frugality."

I humbly request Susan Jacoby's Freethinkers if anyone has it. In return, I give you boobies.

Oh, and aside from the boobies, I found this book quite enjoyable to read as well:

Under A Green Sky:Global Warming, the Mass Extinctions of the Past, and What They Can Tell Us About Our Future
Peter D. Ward Ph.D.

I imagine it would also be of interest to the readers of this blog.

i mean, thanks for upload and all, but one simply can NOT present plenty hours of meaningfull spoken text within a 90 meg mp3 container, dwarfing the material to a mere 12 kbps at 22 hz. provides so many great, unique thoughts - would so, if i could will my ears to listen to: for chirissake (wrong wording here, i know) - why are 100s of megs worth of watchable movie type stuff provided here, but no damn is given for comfortable listening speech?

Because this is the only material I have. Better than nothing!

that's ok then. pardon my former somewhat moody complaint.. in fact, really appreciate to have less "popular" yet sharp and methodically clear arguing "ancient" atheists gathered, or at least referenced to, here - less in atheist scene's spotlight probably because of their language or overall reputation: the german ludwig feuerbach, or karl marx, also german, overmore of course founder of communism.. not considered that hip a point of view, nowadays.

hi there, blog author..

after criticizing the quality followed by cudos for to have done so, finally might provide something substantial: rs links (googlefound, downloaded, reuploaded myself, content not verified thruout.. almost 11 hrs long, i mean) to an alternative version, larger size better quality - 56 kbps, so decent enough for mere speech. anyway, best i can do:

all up to you to utilize the way it pleases.

Thanks for your efforts. I'll update the links after check.
