Doubtlessly one of the greatest thinkers of our age asks one of the most important questions of our time: why people believe in God and how religion shapes our lives and our future.
Dr. Dennett shows us that for the vast majority of people there is nothing more important than religion in his lecture. It is an integral part of their marriage, child rearing, and community. Dennett takes a hard look at this phenomenon and asks: Where does our devotion to God come from and what purpose does it serve? Is religion a blind evolutionary compulsion or a rational choice?
In a spirited investigation that ranges widely through history, philosophy, and psychology, Dennett explores how organized religion evolved from folk beliefs and why it is such a potent force today. Deftly and lucidly, he contends that the "belief in belief" has fogged any attempt to rationally consider the existence of God and the relationship between divinity and human need.
Dr. Dennett is a professor and director of the Center for Cognitive Studies at Tufts University, and the author of the highly acclaimed Darwin's Dangerous Idea, Consciousness Explained, and Freedom Evolves

Day of Wrath is doubtlessly one of Dreyer's greatest works. Altough some says it is an allegory of the Nazi occupation of Denmark, Dreyer uses his artistic power and technical mastery of art in that stunning example of the humanity.
This black and white masterpiece presents horrific events with chilling restraint and brings religious faith, the supernatural, social intolerance, innocence and guilt, and the clash between society together in a portrayal of a woman.
Day of Wrath can not be described as an atheist movie at all, it is a dark and poetic drama of a strong woman that opposes the male domination as well as religious hysteria.
Altough it is not for everyone's taste, real art lovers will find so much thing inside this treasure box!

The Atheist Bible is a handy little book that consists of quotes from mostly atheist or agnostics and some other popular people such as Oscar Wilde, Ernest Hemingway, Ian McKellen, Albert Einstein etc.
Some memorable quotes from the book:
"Perhaps our role on this planet is not to worship God but to create Him."
ARTHUR C. CLARKE
"As for me, I've long resolved not to think whether man created God or God man."
"Do you think I am superstitious? I am a super-atheist."
MOHANDAS K. GANDHI
"We shall tell ourselves that it would be very nice if there were a God who created the world and was a benevolent Providence, and if there were a moral order in the universe and an after-life; but it is a very striking fact that all this is exactly as we are bound to wish it to be."
"All thinking men are atheists."
"Martyrdom ... is the only way in which a man can become famous without ability."
GEORGE BERNARD SHAW
"You can't convince a believer of anything; for their belief is not based on evidence, it's based on a deep-seated need to believe."
"Faith is the great cop-out, the great excuse to evade the need to think and evaluate evidence. Faith is belief in spite of, even perhaps because of, the lack of evidence."
"Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich."
"Well, I've often thought that the Bible should have a disclaimer at the front saying, "This is fiction." I mean, walking on water? I mean, it takes an act of faith."
"[Religious thought is] an attempt to find an out where there is no door."
"Properly read, the Bible is the most potent force for atheism ever conceived."
"I'm not a bad guy! I work hard, and I love my kids. So why should I spend half my Sunday hearing about how I'm going to Hell?"
HOMER SIMPSON :)
