22 Comments From Christopher Hitchens

Christopher Hitchens died at 62, on December 15, 2011.

It is said that "God is Not Great, but Hitch is." and that's so right!

We'll remember him as a great thinker and brilliant debater.

Salute Mr. Hitchens! Your courage and intellectual determination was heroic.

In no stretch of the imagination can Hitchens be described as a "great thinker" - someone`s death should not result in a suspension of intellectual faculties and judgement. Moreover, the fact that he acted as a ´cheerleader` for the Bush-Blair war of aggression against Iraq will permanently besmirch his reputation

Could someone explain "besmirch". I understand that if I meet someone and they immediately start talking about David Icke, I should not trust them, but I would not have dared to debate Hitchens on almost anything. Sure, war is messy, but your opinion of it does not change the facts and evidence that you can garner for any other topic. This is the lesson of Christopher.
